Lewis’ newest album, The Voyager (Warner Bros.), is her third and was released at the end of July. Since its debut, the album has traveled to far dimensions within the entertainment and music industry. The Voyager has tracks containing subliminal notes of Lewis’ major influencers in her musical composition, instrumentality and vocal talents – Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, and Dolly Parton – while simultaneously and creatively expressing a nonchalant uniqueness inspired from notes of Joni Mitchell, Joan Didion, the Byrds, the Go-Go’s, and touched with a hint of Randy Newman humor.
Jenny Lewis made her debut in the music industry as the front woman singer for Rilo Kiley, a Southern California band she formed and performed with from 1995 to 2011. Rilo Kiley opened for Coldplay’s world tour in 2004. Lewis gained more attention in the music industry from her vocal and guitar contributions while touring with The Postal Service in 2013. Lewis released her first solo album, Rabbit Fur Coat, in January 2006, and her second, Acid Tongue, in September 2008. Needless to say, Lewis’ fans are ecstatic with the release of her latest work after the six year hiatus.
