Tonight Alive has been making a name for themselves in the pop-punk scene for years. Their music has already gotten them placements in television shows and movie soundtracks, most recently having their song “The Edge” included in the film “The Amazing Spiderman 2.” They have been touring all over the world with some of the most well known names in the scene, including 3oh!3, The Wonder Years, Simple Plan, and Taking Back Sunday, just to name a few.

Formed in Sydney, Australia in 2008, Tonight Alive made a splash right off the bat with their first two releases, the All Shapes & Disguises EP and the Consider This EP, both released in 2010. After gaining the attention of producer Mark Trombino (Blink-182, Jimmy Eat World), the band set to work on their debut full-length, What Are You So Scared Of?, which was released in 2011 in Australia through Sony Music. The album was released by Fearless Records in the United States early in 2012 following the rerelease of their second EP. Their sophomore album, The Other Side, was released in 2013 to high praise from critics. Alter The Press Magazine even named it their number two album of 2013, as well as making the band's single, “Lonely Girl,” their number one best pop/rock song.

It is rumored that the band is working on a new album, said to be set for release in 2015.

Tonight Alive's sound mixes the pop-punk edge of All Time Low or Pierce The Veil with the haunting beauty of Evanescence. Their latest single, “The Edge,” combines the two perfectly in its room-shaking beats and elongated chorus that shows off singer Jenna McDougall's vocal strength. “Lonely Girl,” the first single from The Other Side, comes at you with the force and power of a lover scorned.Their songs display a lot of emotion, making the listener want to sing along at the top of their lungs. Even the slower songs like “Come Home” are full and passionate.

That passion shows in the band's mission. McDougall says in the band's bio “The band's message is about not living in the fear of other people’s judgement, not being held back by other people’s opinions, about having self-worth.” It is no wonder that fans adore Tonight Alive, not just for their music, but as role models as well.

Finishing the year out with a bang, the band has announced two tours for the fall. First, they will be hitting North America starting in October with Mayday Parade, Major League, and PVRIS. Then, they will be heading back home to Australia for a headlining tour with The Summer Set and Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! as support for the last two weeks of November.

With two EPs and two full-length albums under their collective belt, Tonight Alive has become a fixture in pop-punk both in Australia and beyond. Known for their musical passion, their fans tend to take the band's lyrics to heart and have come to see them as role models. It is safe to say that wherever their music takes them, their fans and critics will be eagerly waiting to hear what is next.
