Since she was young, Julia has “dreamed of sitting by a grand piano and performing her music at a big arena,” as she has told Swedish paper Mitt I Vallentuna Steget. Now twenty-five years old, Julia Westlin lives and breathes for the music she creates and working as an independent artist.
Born in Stockholm Sweden, Julia has a musical background. Her mother would play the piano for her and her brothers. Naturally, she is just as musically talented as her mother, playing the piano, singing, and writing music. She now resides in Quebec, Canada with her husband, who helps out tremendously with her music. She began uploading videos to YouTube back in 2009. She focuses on her voice and just the piano in her songs, most of her songs being covers. She uses her voice to replace instruments and also likes to throw in A Capella pieces to really spice it up. With the help of the internet, she has been able to have her voice heard by thousands of fans. Her biggest and most popular cover is Radiohead’s “Creep,” which has over eighty-five thousand views. Performing covers is very important to Julia because that is how most of her fans found her music and she believes it’s the best way to reach out to an audience. She has also done covers of Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years,” “All of Me” by John Legend, and so much more.
