Walk The Moon

It looks like 2014 is going to be a big year for indie-rock favorites, Walk the Moon. The band is about to embark on a U.S tour, as well start work on their second full-length album.

Forming in 2008, Walk the Moon hit it big with the video to their first single off their self-titled debut album, Ana Sun. The video features lead singer Nicholas Petricca walking through a house party, dancing in a choreographed routine, and starting a giant field party. Oh... and plenty of colorful face paint. Ana Sun peaked at number 10 on the U.S. Alternative Rock chart, putting Walk The Moon on the map.

Walk the Moon is made up of singer Petricca, bassist Kevin Ray, drummer Sean Waugaman, and guitarist Eli Maiman. The band self-released an album in 2010 called I Want! I Want!, but ended up rerecording some of those tracks when they signed to RCA Records. Those new recordings, along with new songs, ended up on the band's self-titled, major label debut in 2012.

The band announced the new album via a video on their YouTube channel in December. Thanking their audience for an amazing 2013, the band mentioned that they were going to take some time in the studio and would see everyone when they had some new music to share. The album is stated to come out some time in the spring of 2014.

However, if you want to see Walk the Moon live, you won’t have to wait that long. The band will be going on tour with Panic! At The Disco, Youngblood Hawke, and Magic Man starting July 18. The 6 week-long tour will hit the Theater at Madison Square Garden, on August 5. Check the band's Facebook page for more dates and details.

With a new album and tour on the way, 2014 is looking like it will be a good year for Walk the Moon.
