Lindsey Stirling made her debut on the show, America’s Got Talent, only to be rejected in one of the final rounds. Now, 4 years later, it’s plain to see that Lindsey wears rejection quite well. Ridiculed at first for being too peculiar, Lindsey’s talents were scrutinized and devalued by people who couldn’t see her innovation as an asset. Stirling has been classically trained in both, violin and ballet, since the age of five. She combines both arts while performing, and then mixes in modern musical genres like hip-hop and dubstep. Whether you’re watching her Youtube channel or a live performance, her energy is infectious and her music couldn’t be considered anything less than original and captivating.
Recently, Lindsey just released her second full-length album, Shatter Me. This sophomore album features original pieces much like those in her debut, self-titled album released back in 2012. Her first album gained outstanding success, especially considering that she wasn’t associated with a major label. Now with Shatter Me only being out for two months, it has far surpassed the success of her first album, landing the number 2 spot on the Billboard charts. For Shatter Me, Stirling collaborated with Dia Frampton for the track, “We are Giants” and then the track, “Shatter Me” features Lzzy Hale. If you are a fan of the violin, dubstep, or more importantly, artists that are creating a name for themselves in the industry by simply just being themselves and trying new things, then you need to check out Lindsey Stirling right away. You won’t be disappointed.
