Inbar Koprak, Singer and Storyteller

Inbar Koprak, Singer and Storyteller

Tel-Aviv, Israel, has a night life unlike any other. Think New York City mixed with Los Angeles, with a heavy dose of falafel, pubs and dance clubs - especially by the beach - and you’ve got some idea of nights in Tel-Aviv.
And along with the beauty of palm trees and young, exuberant adults filled with love, a major music scene flows like a rivert hroughout the city at night.
If you visit many of the popular pubs during open mic nights, you’ll often spot talent from all over the world. During a recent visit there I had the honor of meeting a native Israeli musical artist who enchanted her audience at every live performance I witnessed. She has created an indelible mark of true art and music that comes to mind instantly when I think of Israel.
The songstress graces the stage with poise, gentleness, and a modesty that hides the talent she holds so dear. Her rich and lavish curly hair defines her image, as she dresses herself with her Takamine acoustic guitar.
In the moment between the silence and the first note Koprak sang, it felt as though an angel was channeling the power of Aretha Franklin with a touch of Tobi Lightman, Koprak, who has been writing since the age of ten, plays multiple instruments (including piano & guitar) and studied music at Rimon in Tel-Aviv.
“I just think that my parents knew that this is who I am: An artist,” she explains. “So they let me be; paint on walls, write music and practice a lot with emotional support ... They [my parents] made me independent and strong enough as if they knew this is how my life will look.”
Her music mixes elements of many different genres, such as rock, blues, soul and country. Listening to Koprak's large voice filled with passion, pain, experience and love, you can even hear a little John Mayer, a touch of Alicia Keys and a sliver of Janis Joplin soul in her voice. “Everything inspires my sound.”
Koprak recently released her debut album ‘Just Be’, a live acoustic recorded album, and just finished recording her second album in London. Her loyal fan base extends from Israel, all the way to India, Germany and Holland. Koprak is is the works of planning a European Tour in 2018 to further share her music.
She offered some insight into the secrets ofr her success. "Don't compromise your sound. It will show on your face on stage.”
Instead, she lets her music be her statement; An extension of her being.
“Just be. Love yourself.”
Tel-Aviv's nightlife is quickly becoming fertile ground for many hopeful musicians and aspiring singer-songwriters like Koprak, whose career is blossoming and growing into something larger than perhaps even her dreams
