Ron Pope has been impressing audiences around the world with his bluesy grooves and soothing voice for years. His 2006 song, “A Drop in the Ocean,” became a big hit, with hundreds of people covering it on YouTube, The Voice's Javier Colon releasing it has his first post-show single, placements in shows like Vampire Diaries, 90210, and So You Think You Can Dance, and Pope himself getting the honor of playing it on TRL. Now with his brand new record, Calling Off The Dogs, released in January, he is ready to show off his most complex and experimental music to date.
Music has been a big part of Pope's life since he was little. He tells NewSound, “As soon as I could write a couple of words, I was writing little stories and poems and things like that.” Pope has been playing guitar for just as long too. “I always kind of messed around on the guitar and I sang, and I just kind of put it all together over time.”
